You left an imprint in the sand
A path that I can follow
You told me that I shouldn't though
I find that hard to swallow
Poems
Absent
I was waiting for the others
To finish with their meal
So I started writing
In a moment I could steal
Cheeks
In modern day society
we kiss by touching cheeks
Followed by a kissing sound
I think they're weird techniques
The boss
You know you are the master
Your parents must obey
Whenever they make plans
You always have your say
Despair
Staring in the distance
Trying to lock eyes
Looking for compassion
In the hope they hear your cries
Safari
You put a straw between your lips
And give us all that look
Never have they seen you free
Unless it's in a book
barefoot
I'm walking at night
Through my hometown
My feet may look white
But my soles are brown
Fear not
Not in the storm
That shattered the rocks
Not in the earthquake
Nor the aftershocks
Hung jury
A mobster went to court
To be judged for what he'd done
But somewhere along the line
The trial turned in a con
Rain
I love and hate the rain
Because it makes me wet
If we could give it up
All plants would die instead
