It pains me to see
The hurt that has been caused
By the actions of a few
Lives forever lost

Hate isn’t the answer
And neither is fear
Nor closing the borders
For what we hold dear

Love is the answer
An unconditional flow
Not only to our friends
Or the people we know

By closing our borders
Sending the helpless away
We play into their hand
Are proving what they say

We must show compassion
Show who we really are
Not betray our values
Because of this fresh scar
