I want to tell you a story
A tragedy that is
‘Bout two amazing people
No greater love than this
Time may have changed some details
But I don’t care ‘bout that
So please sit down and listen to
Love without regret
Four years they fought together
Facing battles hand in hand
I will take you through their history
From start till final stand
Our story started a while ago
With a troubadour
Who met our lady on a day
While playing near the shore
She caught his eye, he forgot her name
And everything seemed lost
He searched and searched but couldn’t find
But kept his fingers crossed
Faith intervened, they met again
Again things went awry
This time however her name stuck
He got another try
Our troubadour, now fully schooled
Was impressed with our ladies mind
For she wasn’t only beautiful
But also smart and kind
Our troubadour made up his mind
Wanted her by his side
Gave her a rose, one of a kind
Down by the roadside
Went to the tree where love was forged
And asked her there and then
Will you be mine and she replied
Was already wondering when
They gave a kiss to seal the deal
That’s how it all began
Or so I’ve heard down on the streets
Overhearing two craftsmen
Now we arrive at the next phase
When love would conquer all
No challenge you could throw at them
Could get them down and crawl
There were some times that there were cracks
But nothing that couldn’t be solved
With love and words of affirmation
Their love slowly evolved
Our troubadour had found a place
That would pay for meat and bread
Our lady on the other hand
Went to study law, I read
They shared a passion, the written word
And build a library vast
It would be hard to find a book
That they hadn’t amassed
Maybe you know of Romeo
And his love Juliet
They came from different families
And both ended up dead
Our troubadour and his great love
Had an issue of that kind
But they found ways to make it work
And get some peace of mind
The years went by, details were lost
Some stories you still hear
I can tell you some of them
But some things are not clear
Our troubadour once had to go
To a meeting of some kind
And he still would’ve been a sleep
If not for his ladies mind
For she still knew at morning dew
He needed to awake
She woke him up with the kindest words
For a lot was then at stake
Another time the world found out
What an artist she could be
For she could write a certain way
An art for all to see
Our troubadour sometimes got hurt
And always she was there
Or came to visit from afar
To brighten up the air
One time he had to rest a week
Without a spot of light
She came and helped him through it all
Stayed in darkness day and night
But our troubadour was troubled
Sometimes couldn’t find his smile
And even when he was flooded with love
It sometimes took a while
The grass would wither, turn brown from green
Flooded with water from tears
Feeling alone in a crowded room
His heart burdened down with fears
But always in the darkest of nights
Her light would pierce the veil
Of sorrow and pain and feeling not sane
Breaking him free from jail
But after a while her light was stained
It shone slightly more dim
Hardly noticeable, at least at first
But here entered the grim
But still, they shared their love and joy
Preparing for a feast
The greatest in recent history
At, the very least
Cause our troubadour, he had gone down
Asked the question of his life
Will you be forever mine
Will you be my wife
But while they were preparing the feast
A war suddenly broke out
They tried not to let it intervene
In the end, they got knocked out
This final battle scorched the world
For over half a year
Leaving nothing in its tracks
But desperation and fear
It took a while for the world to heal
The exact time is unknown
But light was victorious in the end
Darkness overthrown
It's hard to say what happend to them
For history doesn’t tell
But for their lives together I say
I know they lived it well
Heel bijzonder en indrukwekkend!
